Let’s Spruce Up!

Hello ladies!

Today I have something different, but exciting for you. Hope you’ll like it! 😉

I’ve realised that being a blogger, I have to be on the lookout for cool new stuff. Today I bring you an online portal which is going to be very helpful to me, and hopefully you will love it, too!

I recently moved to New Delhi from Mumbai. It’s a new house and I’ve been looking for ideas to decorate and furnish my bedroom.

I stumbled upon this website called homify which is full of excellent ideas for home décor.

Homify is like the pinterest of home décor! 😀

There are many, many categories that you can browse – from the dining space and dressing room to bathrooms!

But today, I am focusing on my bedroom 🙂

According to me, the bedroom is perhaps the most important part of the house. Every part of the house as well as the outdoors are important, but the bedroom is the heart of it. It can reflect who you are and should be your place of comfort and escape!

I personally don’t like to have a television in the bedroom because then you tend to only watch TV and kinda forget your hobbies like reading, exercise or cooking.

So what do we start the decor with? The color scheme and aesthetics, of course!

You can opt for an exclusive theme / color scheme for your bedroom, or use the same one as the rest of your house. I love a bare look, so I’d go for all white, with well-polished mahogany furniture. I’m not sure about this idea but I’m still putting it out there – a statement wall, that is, one wall of my bedroom should be a rich color, splashed with a lovely pattern and adorned with edgy ornaments. I’m currently dreaming of a combination of a navy blue wall with silver filigree pattern and blackened silver art pieces to add a bohemian touch. I also wish to have a couple of potted plants to make the room feel fresh and vibrant!

After browsing on homify, I also found that they have a number of themes that I really liked, ranging from colonial to vibrant to modern and minimal.

Let’s explore a couple of them, shall we?

I hope you found my ideas useful! I’ve been looking for ideas to spruce up my place and make it lively. Do let me know if you have any other ideas 😀

Until next time,

Shruti xx
