My First Bloggers’ Meet!

Hey guys! ❤

This month, I was a part of an exciting bloggers’ meet organised by Triveni Ethnics. I was ecstatic to be there! The fact that Triveni is Surat-based and they were in Mumbai only for a day, and had organised this meet with select bloggers is what made it even more special for me! 😀

We were warmly welcomed by Arvind who introduced us with the Triveni brand, their history and their specialties. Us girls had a great time draping each other and choosing sarees to take home!

Look how happy I am 😛

I went through the catalogues and liked what I saw!

So here’s what I gathered from the meet:

  1. They are based in Surat. You can visit them at 1018-1025, First Floor, Anupam Textile Market,Ring Road, Surat to look at their entire EXTENSIVE collection!
  2. And those who cannot make it to Surat, you should check out the Triveni website! It has a huge range of ethnic wear from sarees and suits to lehengas and kurti. They also stock jewellery and accessories!
  3. They have something for the men and kids as well! 😉
  4. They take custom orders. Anything from a pre-pleated saree to a celebrity outfit request, they do it all!
  5. They are constantly innovating. They showed us fabrics and blends which I had never seen before! Can you imagine shiny crepe?? I saw a beautiful patch of grey crepe, with a golden tone on one side ❤
  6. They are very affordable! I checked out their wedding catalogue, expecting the lehengas to cost 70-80k INR easily cuz they are THAT beautiful. But brace yourselves – the semi-stitched lehengas cost a jaw-dropping 8-10k INR only! Honestly, I haven’t been able to stop myself from recommending Triveni to all prospective brides I’ve met lately!

I promise to be back with a detailed post with the saree that I received. I’m still in the process of getting the blouse top stitched :/

But I’m SUPER excited about it! Can’t wait! 😉

Here’s a selfie from the workshop!

Until next time, love from Shruti ❤

5 Beauty Essentials This Monsoon

Hi ladies! ❤

Today, I want to share the 5 most important things that you should swear by, this monsoon. Believe me, monsoons are no less harsh than summer! The humidity makes it impossible for sweat to evaporate, causing us to sweat more! This also activates the oil glands and makes your skin perfectly acne-prone! 😮

I have a really oily T zone, so I have been there! In today’s post, I hope to make your lives easier this monsoon. Let’s take a look at the top 5 Beauty Essentials that are great for monsoon as well as summer 😀

1. Oil-free Sunblock / Sunscreen

Never step out without a good sunblock on. Truth be told, you should wear sunblock ALL the time! I’m currently using the UV Screen Matte Gel from Lotus Herbals. With SPF 50, this sunblock is oil-free and gives a matte effect! Lotus Herbals makes safe, eco-friendly products which don’t harm my sensitive skin 🙂

2. Matte Makeup

Try to avoid liquid lipsticks, gloss and creamy eyeshadows. The Mumbai monsoon and humidity are unforgiving. It won’t take more than 10 mins after you step out, for you makeup to melt and drip :/

Try using a waterproof and oil-proof makeup base. Lacto Calamine is a good option that can be used as a base! 💡

It’s also a great idea to fix your makeup and matte-fy it with a loose powder such as this one from Kryolan ⭐

3. Waterproof Eye Makeup

Besides a waterproof base, foundation and all of those, make sure you use waterproof makeup on your eyes! Waterproof makeup will make sure you don’t look like a raccoon on your big day 😛

I’m currently using Hyper Curl Volum Express mascara from Maybelline.

Other great options are Maybelline’s Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara and Rimmel London’s Volume Flash Max Bold Curves Mascara 🙂

4. Wet Wipes / Tissues

Always keep a pack of wet wipes or face tissues handy! The humidity makes us sweaty and oily, but a quick swipe with a wet wipe can save the day! 😉

I’m currently loving Rose and Thyme Toning Wipes from Kara ❤

5. Purified Water

The last thing which is very important! I can’t stress enough, the importance of staying hydrated. With all the sweating in monsoon, our bodies lose great amounts of water. Drink water at regular intervals to keep your bodily mechanisms in good shape!

Hydrated skin means healthy, bouncy, glowing skin 😉

Boho Chic Summer Look

Hi readers! ❤

Today I’m featuring one of my favourite pieces of garment this summer! This one was long due! Take a look at this monochrome printed kimono with fringe detail at the hemline. This is a thrifted item 😀

IMG_20150608_135053475

I love how this kimono is light and airy, making it perfect for this season! The fringes make it so much fun! And there are multiple ways to wear it. I’ll tell you some ways today 🙂

I opted for wrist accessories and a necklace, completely foregoing earrings. I completed the look with a pair of black leather espadrilles 🙂

You can opt for full coverage, by pairing the kimono with leggings..

OR create a playful summer look, as I did with the shorts 😎

Both outfits are quite versatile! The full black coverage is great for a formal meeting or simply, to feel cosy on a rainy day out 😉

Quick Tips:

1. You can even pair this kimono with your bikini or a swim suit and it will look perfect!

2. You can also wear a belt or cord with the kimono, to add definition to your waist. Or you can just let it flow and enjoy the breeziness like me! ❤

So what do you think about kimonos? Would you like to try one, or do you love them already? 😀
