This is again, a thrifted dress 😀 (Gosh, I love thrifted stuff). I paired the dress with heels and a clutch-cum-sling bag!

This lovely dress is very simple and yet, very striking! So I kept the look very clean and minimalist, without any bling 🙂

IMG_20150810_143931607-01

Since this shift dress is colorful, I decided to play up one color, that is, blue. I got these blue wedges from Pune (FC Road, I think!) and the chic blue sling-cum-clutch from Jabong.

I opted for black winged eyeliner and bright pink lips, and my Tissot watch and tiny black ear studs completed the look!

The Whole Nine Yards

Hello readers ❤

A very Happy Independence Day to everyone!

Today I’m back with a post about the traditional Indian ethnic wear – the saree! In my post about my first bloggers’ meet, I told you guys about the meet organised by Triveni ethnic wear.

So after a fiasco with the planned brocade blouse and my internet connection issues, today I’m finally able to share my look, wearing one of their creations! 🙂

To make up for the blouse, I wore a plain black tee and fashioned it into a crop top by knotting it below my bust on the left 😀

_20150803_215554

I kept the makeup simple but striking, playing withe the sari’s colour scheme of red and gold. I kept the accessories minimal, and went without earrings 🙂

You can see the knot in the next pic..

So here’s the quick low-down from my day with Triveni:

  1. Triveni is based in Surat. You can visit them at 1018-1025, First Floor, Anupam Textile Market,Ring Road, Surat to look at their full EXTENSIVE collection!
  2. And those who cannot make it to Surat, you should check out theTriveni website! It has a huge range of ethnic wear from sarees and suits to lehengas and kurti!
  3. They have something for the men and kids as well! 😉
  4. They take custom orders. Anything from a pre-pleated saree to a celebrity outfit request, they can do it all!
  5. They are constantly innovating. They showed us fabrics and blends which I had never seen before! Can you imagine shiny crepe?? I saw a beautiful patch of grey crepe, with a golden tone on one side
  6. They are very affordable! I checked out their wedding catalogue, expecting the lehengas to cost 70-80k INR easily cuz they are THAT beautiful. But brace yourselves – the semi-stitched lehengas cost a jaw-dropping 8-10k INR only!

You’ll see that this look can go from elegant to boho in just a flick of the hair 😉

IIJW 2015: My Day Out!

Hey lovely readers! ❤

Tonight I want to share my experience at the India International Jewellery Week 2015 with you guys 😀
I attended Day 2 of the IIJW at Grand Hyatt (Mumbai) and had a great time! This is how I looked!

IMG_20150804_174144545

I attended the show presented by the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery (IIGJ) that showcased collections by Rahul Luthra, Cherry Sahni, Anushka Singhal and Rachna Gupta. Many designs caught my eye!

IMG_20150804_163829101 IMG_20150804_163928546IMG_20150804_164023012

IMG_20150804_165054532

I was bewitched by Cherry Sahni’s exquisite collection! It was all about diamonds and TASSELS! It was amazing to see gems and pearls tied into tassels – so unique! B-)

The outfits were all denim! Denim and diamonds make an intriguing combination, don’t they? 😀

Aditi Arya, the ruling Miss India World was the showstopper for Cherry. She looked like a young goddess in an unconventional boho-chic denim bustier-style leotard and a sheer lace skirt, coupled with ultra high brown leather heels ^^’

After the show, I caught up with Cherry and her showstopper. Both ladies were gracious enough and the chat was effortless!

IMG_20150804_173540235

Aditi’s favourite thing about the collection was its perfectly harmonious blend of modern and traditional. Her denim-lace outfit definitely revealed both the chic coolness and grace that a women embodies, she felt.

As for Cherry, she couldn’t be happier about her showstopper! According to her, Aditi symbolises precisely what her collection puts forth – a globetrotter and a free spirit who is in touch with her roots.

My First Bloggers’ Meet!

Hey guys! ❤

This month, I was a part of an exciting bloggers’ meet organised by Triveni Ethnics. I was ecstatic to be there! The fact that Triveni is Surat-based and they were in Mumbai only for a day, and had organised this meet with select bloggers is what made it even more special for me! 😀

We were warmly welcomed by Arvind who introduced us with the Triveni brand, their history and their specialties. Us girls had a great time draping each other and choosing sarees to take home!

Look how happy I am 😛

I went through the catalogues and liked what I saw!

So here’s what I gathered from the meet:

  1. They are based in Surat. You can visit them at 1018-1025, First Floor, Anupam Textile Market,Ring Road, Surat to look at their entire EXTENSIVE collection!
  2. And those who cannot make it to Surat, you should check out the Triveni website! It has a huge range of ethnic wear from sarees and suits to lehengas and kurti. They also stock jewellery and accessories!
  3. They have something for the men and kids as well! 😉
  4. They take custom orders. Anything from a pre-pleated saree to a celebrity outfit request, they do it all!
  5. They are constantly innovating. They showed us fabrics and blends which I had never seen before! Can you imagine shiny crepe?? I saw a beautiful patch of grey crepe, with a golden tone on one side ❤
  6. They are very affordable! I checked out their wedding catalogue, expecting the lehengas to cost 70-80k INR easily cuz they are THAT beautiful. But brace yourselves – the semi-stitched lehengas cost a jaw-dropping 8-10k INR only! Honestly, I haven’t been able to stop myself from recommending Triveni to all prospective brides I’ve met lately!

I promise to be back with a detailed post with the saree that I received. I’m still in the process of getting the blouse top stitched :/

But I’m SUPER excited about it! Can’t wait! 😉

Here’s a selfie from the workshop!

Until next time, love from Shruti ❤

Boho Chic Summer Look

Hi readers! ❤

Today I’m featuring one of my favourite pieces of garment this summer! This one was long due! Take a look at this monochrome printed kimono with fringe detail at the hemline. This is a thrifted item 😀

IMG_20150608_135053475

I love how this kimono is light and airy, making it perfect for this season! The fringes make it so much fun! And there are multiple ways to wear it. I’ll tell you some ways today 🙂

_20150531_160849

IMG_0056

I opted for wrist accessories and a necklace, completely foregoing earrings. I completed the look with a pair of black leather espadrilles 🙂

IMG_20150530_160059478_HDR - Copy IMG_20150530_162146893

You can opt for full coverage, by pairing the kimono with leggings..

IMG_20150530_160059478_HDR

OR create a playful summer look, as I did with the shorts 😎

IMG_0098

Both outfits are quite versatile! The full black coverage is great for a formal meeting or simply, to feel cosy on a rainy day out 😉

The pure white look with the white linen shorts is perfect for everything, from hanging out at the mall and even going to the beach!

Quick Tips:

1. You can even pair this kimono with your bikini or a swim suit and it will look perfect!

2. You can also wear a belt or cord with the kimono, to add definition to your waist. Or you can just let it flow and enjoy the breeziness like me! ❤

So what do you think about kimonos? Would you like to try one, or do you love them already? 😀
